Well the day has finally come that my 3rd set of Hyper Elpida RAM has shat itself. Yes my beloved Mushkin Ascent Redline DDR3 2000MHz has bit the dust. Well one stick at least. I was in love with this RAM and was for sure it was going to go the distance as this set lasted the longest out of the three. Something strikes me odd about all three sets. None of them blew out during my 2000MHZ and beyond ventures or 1.8 volts and beyond not even benching them but all three just blew out at the strangest time. That time was in the evening after getting home from work. I turn on my computer, open the internet browser then blue screen and then crash. My Kingston HyperX 2000MHz cas 8's did it this way, my OCZ Blade 2000 MHz cas 7's went out this way and now my Mushkin's followed suite. Hyper Elpida's are great when they are running but suck when they go out. Chances are they will if you own a set.

Ahh the great Micron D9 um I mean Hyper RAM debacle!
All joking aside, sorry to hear about that man. Did you get Hypers back when you RMAed the previous kit? I know a few companies stopped carrying them while Elpedia sorted it out. (A la the Dominator GTs)

It figures. Over at Mushkin's website this RAM is currently not available. So I would prolly get just the plain Redline edition which I'm not too found of. Same speeds just a plain heatsink on them.
Yeah I got them back when all the hub bub was going on.

bah that sucks, Ive had this 3x1gb set for a long as time now (hyperX t1's)
Have been looking everywhere for a 3x2gb set of confirmed hypers and apparently you have to pay out the ass if you want to play?

Kingston 2000C8 6GB kit, only hyper used and not totally unreasonable at ~$250.

+1 just got a kingston kit in of the newer IC. They are still hypers, but theyre the less volatile sort. Will be doing testing soon... but a quick and dirty 10 minute test got me 950 7-7-6-18-60 @ 1.7 with no problems whatsoever. Im eager to see where they max out though
