I'm looking for suggestions on Manfufacturer and Model in the ATI camp for my next gpu purchase. If anyone has old cards they wanna part ways on, I might wanna take them off ur hands ;)

Sapphire, Asus, and HIS seem to be what most ATI owners prefer. After that Diamond and Gigabyte seem to be OK. If you want the lifetime warranty and wanna pay the price premium, get Visiontek or XFX.

Anybody hear when the next release is due out? The 4890x2s? From that list chuch, I'd prolly go with the saphires. (also looking at the black ops as a mobo)

So what are your plans as far as purchases? If you are going to buy a dual core for some high mhz action, then the bops probably isn't your answer.

nope, no dual cores in my plans so far.

Then the BOPS will serve you well. It can hit the crazy fsb, but the REX and a couple other boards seem to be much more user friendly at doing such. No i7??

The last I looked on hwbot the 4850X2 wasn't a commonly benched card, it's priced lower than the 4870X2's too. Aftermarket cooling for the 4850X2 is a bit sketchy though, I think you can fit a pair of core only blocks on it and put sinks on everything else. This card might be a GREAT candidate for a pair of gpu dice/Ln2 pots too!
Get the Sapphire.
