I hear stories how they are saying the 760 is faster anyways when people complain about not getting a 759 back from rma.
Being $50 more I would like another 759 or if kal wanted to trade my dead board for the 4xsli I would think about doing that ;)
Any advice?
Oh and the problem with the board is you have to put massive pressure on the bios chip to get it to boot, soon as you let go, frozen :Dizzy:
Have you tried pulling the chip and reseating it?

Did you bend the pins on the bios chip? Might be able to just get them to express you a new chip for free.

How would that even happen? What are you guys doing to these boards?! :scared:

no its not bent, I pulled it out to try and re-seat it and looked fine. Weird though all of a sudden its doing this?
See any corrosion in the socket?
I would think it would either be a dirty connection, or a cold joint in the socket.
I would take alcohol + toothbrush to the socket and pins, let it dry, then hith the back of the board with a heat gun for a couple minutes..... Then rma land!

Well, they are easily bent and fragile lil things. Call EVGA and see if they'll ship out a new chip lickidy splits, its cheaper for them and less frustrating for you if the chip just needs replacing.

Did they say if you'd get a 759 in return? Or if they're just gonna switch the bios chip and send it back?
Bummer :(

werd, ya the first version
Gunbo, Romdom and I all have dead classifieds as of yesterday lol shits dropping like flies.
No word on what they are going to do or send back. I will not accept a 760 and a t-shirt in return lol especially not when I plan on going tri 5870s.
760 $370
759 I payed $450
762 x4sli $500
Any chance they would let me step-up for $50?

If you're only planning on tri 5870's, the 760 is a very good board, it's what I've been using for a couple of months.

There was an article in the EVGA fourms a while back about RMA'ed 759's... YOU WILL RECEIVE A 759 in return on your RMA no questions ask, EVGA said they have stashed many brand new 759's for RMA purposes only, So no worries it you will get a 759 in return.
