Well in preparation of finishing off my i7 (I am ordering the RAM on Friday, will post in a nother thread about that :) ) I pulled my 4890, and popped in the 2400XT LP card I have.
Installing v64, because this is my 24/7 rig and mojave is not for me (yet, I like being cutting edge, but it will be instlaled on my benching rig, not my main, I just want it to work rig )
Now the 2400XT I know does not support OCing. Was wondering if installing Display driver only, no CCC would allow me to use a soft clocker to try and nab some boints while I wait for my i7 to arrive :)
Or can i install CCC and still use a soft clocking utility. :)
Will look around at my junk piles to see what I can to mod this card for better cooling later :) Just want to try out a little benching while I wait.

I at one point ran CCC and Riva Tuner on my 2900xt. They didn't interfere which was a miracle. Just try it dude. Riva Tuner works great :)

yeah, once you set it with Riva Tuner, it should be good to go, I never had any problems with them at all. I'd say give it a shot, will most likely work.

Okay I will give it a try. Was not sure how it would work as I know the 2k series and early had problems with CCC being installed unless you disabled hotkey poller service which stopped the card from kicking into 3d clock mode (and voltages) was not sure if they had fixed that.

I used CCC with my 2900xt since I ever installed it, I passed the card on to my buddy. He still has it with CCC installed. Works like a charm :)
However, this is the 2900, hopefully those issues were fixed also for the 2400. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens :thumbsup:

will do. Getting the system all setup. doing a little prime95 blending test for a mild 24/7 oc with powerplay enabled
real mild OC but man this setup is sooo sweet. I cross my fingers that I am half as happy with i7

Rivatuner works despite getting a unsigned driver warning :)
stock clocks on my dell low profile 2400xt are 600/500 ram clocks for poop.. so far max benchable is 775/550 just ran am3 at 575 mem speed and was was it ugly lol finished the test but posted a black screen :(
Temps are actually really reasonable considering how tiny this card and heatsink are. I think with a little work I might be able to reach the clocks some of the other guys are, although right now my benches sucks as I can only hit 245 AMD Bus clock in v64, running windows classic theme, jumped from 34k stock VGA to just over 50k
Might have to find some more sub $20 cards to play with :)

I got the unsigned driver warning to if I'm not mistaken, but I might be wrong. Good its working bro, seems like you having some fun with the setup :D

yah. Working on finding a stable low voltage OC. AM3 and V64 do not play nice together so I think after I am done abusing the 4890 I will pop this 2400XT into the i7 rig and try it out on XP see if I can fix my terrible scores :(

I sure hope so!!
ORdered RAM yesterday, hopefully I have it this week :) I THINK I have the next two days to myself, so going to work on a low profile bench station so when RAM and Heatsink arrive I can start shooting for the gold!! (1st boot at stock is the only boot at stock!)

that sounds like a plan. You only missing the RAM?

Nope ordered it yesterday from Amazon. I posted it in my RAM/heatsink request thread lol
Patriot Viper Extreme (I do not know where that branding came from 1600 MHz is not extreme) 1600 MHz cas 9 ELK (I do not understand that enhanced latency branding either, unless they mean enhanced as in higher lol)
But was $50 with cheap shipping, for a 3 GB kit since I was ordering a bunch of stuff for my daughter's birthday and saw it... going to eat ramen noodles for a week but its worth it :) and I could do with a low fat food for a little while ;)
Shipped 1st class mail today, and since I picked the store closest to me of the 3 kits listed, I expect to have it tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. :ohcrap:

Beef flavored :)
Dont they just put a Cow in a tanning booth until it is completely dehydrated then grind it up for seasoning packets? How else do you get beef flavoring
