Morning all! As most of you know I was blessed with winning DrNip's Pot kit.
I am looking for advice from you the experts as to what MOBO would be the one you would want to use first? Any CPU that is best? And what RAM could I abuse allong the way and it say thank you Sir may I have another? :confused2::trophy::happy1:
FTY.... This thread will die and come back off and on because of my time constraints and funds this time of the year. The reality is I will be collecting the parts needed for the rest of the year and I will be able to make my first runs I think in the first qtr of 2010.....

The i7 platform is a hella good time. If you go that route make sure you do it with a Classified and some good RAM. The Hyper Elpidas are out of there funk or at least the ones being sold now are. Not to say you won't blow them out as going extreme sometimes has its toll. Get some cas 8 DDR3 2000's at least. The Mushkin Ascents have treated me right. If you are going 775 then the E8600 with the Asus Rampage Extreme. This is my personal opinion.

Maybe wait a bit then, by Q1 of 2010 there may be newer platforms and such to play with or other prices of current gen may fall. If its a budget constraint but you just gotta play with something, go for some sick old shit that clocks high like celerons or sumtin.

any cheap 775 board to practice prep and if you kill it wont matter... also can get a E7XXX or E5XXX chip rather cheap to beat on.
either way... prep it... load her up and beat it :morpheus:

DFI Blood Iron.
XMS2 kit
and a Dual Core.
Cheap setup, and that Blood Iron can push good amount of FSB. I've seen around 630 on air I think:)

Agreed with Shannon
Use something you do not care if it dies.
My first time was on a ASUS Max Furmula with QX6700, both MB and RAM passed away and bit the dust :(
That was long ago and I have learned a great deal about prepping HA :)
