I like the solder brazing idea mentioned in the article. Filling the gaps with TIM seems too frail of an application to me. Filling it w/ some good soft 60/40 solder before lapping should prove more than effective.

I have a coolermaster direct contact that I'm willing to sacrifice when I have the time.

That'd be an interesting exploration. For those without the time on their hands, this should help with load temps.

Call me crazy... but that picture is not a Thor's hammer..

Getting ready to mount this one, and look.. 4 heatpipes! So going to have to see if its 2 or 3 strips they want :s

Going to try 2 outer gaps first.
