I was going to say hello and intro myself for all to know me.
I'm Bud, in Oregon.
I'm one man here with two dogs,
My 14 year old Chow/Shepherd,Della.
And my new Rescuee,who will be two years old on the 4thof Sept, a pure bred Border Collie named "KONA";
I got her from a neighbor that didn't know what the heck he was doing,
before he ended up killing the poor thing from neglect.
Now she has a home and she will be here almost a year on her Birthday.

I'm a 62 year old disabled retired veteran that loves to mess with my machines and tear the heart out of the operating system and make them work easier after not being burdened too much by Windows XP Bloat.

Nliting is a real pleasure.

Running the MSI GX-710 TL-66 Laptop on 216 MB nlite install disk with no issues.
Got a big performance increase on pcmark05 after the tweaks and disabling a few more services in windows.

Desktops are always being benched here and there hasn't been one in a CASE in several months.
But I keep swearing I'm going to put the one on the HSPC test stand in a real case and give it a home.
Maybe that will happen next week or the end of this week.
Too much gear to list;
But I'm an AMD Securities/Holder-Owner
So you can tell what cpu's I buy from that.

Your site is very nice looking,
I think the colors are very easy on my old eyes.

I bench what I can when I have the time as it is very difficult to break away from taking care of the house, the dogs and me.

Bud

Ah a AMD guy :)

Personally I use what ever CPU I can get my hands on, brand doesnt really matter much to me tho I am leaning more twards AMD everyday. I just need to learn how to over clock them better LOL.

Take a look in the LN2 section and see what fun I had with the Phantom LN2 pot on a 965BE.

I have another chip I think is somewhat rare but don't think much will ever come of it. Its a 955 locked chip, thats right its not a BE unit. Perhaps they are trying to break into another market with a lower cost CPU that performs well.

I am hoping that they come out with 32 nanometer products real soon.
Then they can sell more to wattage conscious buyers.

Myself,
I am looking for a new low power AMD x4 to make a new server out of.

Welcome to the forum Ol'Bud!
You are among friends here for sure.
Now I don't feel so old and alone amongst all these greenhorns.

Archer has had some pretty nice results with the new 905 low power AMD x4 chip.

Welcome Bud from a Rom officer to a truly honored veteran. Gotta say when I read your opening thread, I shouted "KONA"! I love my two border collies to death and absolutely love the name of yours. I am a cabinet maker by trade so my boy is named "Teak", hes a tri-color....our little girl is blue merle, half BC and half Aussie and she is my wife's "Gem". They are truly awesome.
Hope to talk with you some more in the future, until then, be well and welcome.

I just have to be careful to not show too much partiality to the little one,Kona, over the old lady,Della.

My Border Collie "Lashes" who had to be put to sleep on St.Paddy's day in 2008 was the love of my life.

I think the tainted dog food killed her.

She didn't even make it to her 8th birthday.

She wasn't going to make it through the night so I called my Vet to come over and I told her to be ready to go to work when she hit the front door because Lashes was breathing 130 breaths a minute and the Vet,Anne, registered the needle with the sodium pentothal in it and I pushed the Meds. as I held her in my lap and Anne said she went down on the dose for a thirty pound dog,
Anne finished pushing the rest of the dose,
I just told her, go ahead you finish.

I still miss her.

Killin' you?
I was a candidate for Psychiatric services the next morning when I went out to the garage with my friend Dave so he could see her,
I had wrapped her in a camouflaged blanket and it was freezing over night, when I touched her Fur it was warm and soft.
I went over the edge with grief.
I think I scared Dave.
He later drove me to the greenacres place where I had her cremated.
We went back on the next day and I received her ashes.
I have them on the mantle piece.

Every once in a while I call Kona, Lashes,
And I have to stop and straighten out my thinking.
